How to care for linen textiles?
Linen is a fabric that does not require much attention when it comes to care. It is enough to follow a few simple rules. Then, how to wash linen textiles in order to enjoy them for years? We recommend washing linen in the washing machine, at gentle cycle, with temperature of 30, max 40°C. If hand washed, should not be wrung intensely. High washing temperatures may cause shrinkage of linen products. Let linen dry naturally. After washing, form the product to its original shape and hang carefully when still moist. Forming is highly recommended. In case of tablecloths or table runners it is enough to pull them slightly in both directions (width and length) to get rid of creases remaining after washing and skew corners. When washing placemats and napkins it is best to lay them flat and then form. Linen does not require ironing, which is a big advantage – we can save here quite some time. If necessary, iron linen textiles on the left side, in high temperature, when still slightly moist. Don’t forget, flax wrinkles and that is its charm. When storing linen products, it is worth taking care of proper air circulation.
